This is
a photo of what was between 1961
and 1963 Pulaski Barracks Building
2810, where Spc.-4 Lewis D. Whaley
was stationed. With the rear of
the building pictured here, Whaley
remembers being stationed in the
barracks at the lower right-hand
corner. As you would enter the front
door, Whaley's room was the first
room on the right and his bunk was
in the rear right corner. With three
bunks on each side of the room,
Whaley remembers about six soldiers
being stationed per room.
Whaley remembers the two small windows
beside the barracks windows in the
lower right-hand corner as being
where the latrine and showers were
located between 1961 and 1963. If
you were to look out the small windows,
you could still see in 1999 the
former Armed Forces Network television
station tower.
According to public affairs officers
stationed at Pulaski Barracks in
April 1999, the two-story barracks
were then used as office buildings
and renovated soldier quarters.
