9th Infantry Division — World War II — Normandy, France
A war memorial is situated in the center of St. Jean de Daye, Normandy, France
Following the defeat of Germany's elite armored division, Panzer Lehr, at Le Dezert, troops continued the push north and east.
One village that took a serious pounding during these July 1944 battles was St. Jean de Daye.
Today, a special war memorial is located in the town square.
