Today, Le
Hommet d'Arthenay Mayor Michel Castel
ensures the preservation of those
historic villages and had a special
memorial for fallen soldiers of World
War II erected in the town square.
As for Le Bois du Hommet, both American
and German foxholes abound in the
woods, in addition to roads and the
site of an ammunition depot gutted
by the Germans during their ill-fated
occupation.
